Join us on September 25th for the Start! San Francisco Heart Walk! This event emphasizes the importance of walking as a heart healthy exercise. More than 100 corporations located in the heart of San Francisco will join forces to raise funds to help the American Heart Association in its fight against heart disease and stroke.
Cardiovascular disease is everyone’s No. 1 killer but you can substantially reduce the relative risk of coronary heart disease by adding just 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week.
Since 1924 the American Heart Association has helped protect people of all ages and ethnicities from the ravages of heart disease and stroke. These diseases, the Nation's No.1 and No.3 killers, claim more than 910,000 American lives a year. The association invested more than $543 million in fiscal year 2005-06 for research, professional and public education, and advocacy so people across America can live stronger, longer lives.
